What to Do With Latex Paint
Latex paint, also labeled acrylic or water-based paint can easily be disposed of by following these simple steps:
1. Remove the lid.
2. Add sand or kitty litter to the paint, stir, and leave in a dry, well-ventilated area such as a porch or garage to completely dry out.
3. Once the paint is completely dried out, you can dispose of it with your regular trash. Be sure to leave the lids off so that your hauler knows there is no liquid left in the can. Never throw away paint that is still in a liquid form.
4. Oil-based paint (also labeled as enamel) should be taken to the Tox-Drop facility.
